Bromford donates blankets to support patients at Compton Care

At Bromford, community is at the heart of everything we do—and sometimes, it’s the smallest comforts that can make the biggest difference.

We’re proud to have recently donated 20 fleece blankets to Compton Care, a Wolverhampton-based charity that provides specialist palliative and bereavement support to people with life-limiting conditions and their families. These soft, comforting blankets are now being used by patients on Compton Care’s Inpatient Unit, helping bring a sense of warmth and care during incredibly challenging times.

For over 40 years, Compton Care has offered expert clinical support, compassion, and comfort. Whether that’s in their purpose-built facilities or in patients’ own homes. Their approach is deeply personal, offering not just medical care but emotional and spiritual support tailored to each individual’s needs.

Emily Thompson, Community & Events Manager at Compton Care, shared her gratitude:

“We would like to thank Bromford for their generous donation. The blankets have been well-received by our patients.

It’s thanks to support from individuals and organisations in the community, like Bromford, that we are able to provide specialist palliative and bereavement support to patients and their families, when they need us most.”

At Bromford, giving back is part of our purpose. Catherine Jarrett, our Regional Director for the area, explained:

“We are delighted to support Compton Care and the incredible work they do.

Living with a life limiting illness can be overwhelming for both the individual and their family, so we wanted to do something—no matter how small—to help bring a little comfort and show our support for such a vital service.”

We’re honoured to support a charity that provides such essential, compassionate care to communities across Wolverhampton, the Black Country, South Staffordshire, and East Shropshire.
