Warwick up 30 places in Quality of Life survey

FIVE of our affordable new homes locations feature in the Top 50 quality of life league published by one of Britain's biggest mortgage lender.

Highest placing at No 7 goes to the South Northants district, which includes our popular shared ownership development at Becket Manor, Deanshanger.

County town Warwick (pictured below) is one of the Halifax Top 50's biggest climbers − rising from  42nd in 2013 to 11th place this year − and the location of our upcoming Beaumont Meadow development.

Another popular Warwickshire town, Stratford-upon-Avon, clinches 22nd place in the new rankings and Rugby − where we have two developments, Butterfield Gardens and Oaklands − is in 35th position.

Aylesbury Vale − site of our fast-selling Foxlow Grange homes − is last but not least of our Top 50 fivesome with a highly respectable 41st placing.

The survey findings are good news for householders in Top 50 areas, says Bromford Homes Head of Sales Alan Bradley. "Warwick has fared particularly well this year, rising more than 30 places to sit just outside the Top 10 in this well-regarded survey. It's an impressive result," says Alan.

"The survey crunches statistics from various sources and includes a number of measures ranging from residents' health and well-being to crime rates and broadband access.

"Homebuyers in the named areas will surely welcome the findings. It's always nice to get this stamp of approval about the place that you've chosen to live and, of course, factors like low crime rates and good broadband access are very much part-and-parcel of the decision-making process for buyers.

"That said, these surveys always provoke a certain amount of debate and I'm sure there are many communities out there which perhaps don't feature in the survey but can justifiably claim to offer a great quality of life.

"At the end of the day, there are many factors that influence where people chose to live and how they judge quality of life. Closeness to family, friends, school and jobs are high on the list for most of our homebuyers − and so, of course, is affordability."

Oaklands Goldcrest 960x400

That's why so many first-time buyers say yes to shared ownership at developments such as Oaklands (pictured above) in Rugby or Becket Manor in Deanshanger.

"Our low deposits and affordable monthly costs make all the difference to first-time buyers − especially in popular market towns like Warwick or Aylesbury (below) where property prices are high and average wages fairly low," says Alan. "It's a truly affordable way for people to make their home ownership dreams come true."
