Rugby open day kicks off Oaklands sales

THE DREAM of home ownership is coming true for eager first-time buyers who joined us for a special Bromford Homes open day in Rugby.

The Saturday session was a big success with would-be homeowners who couldn't afford to buy on the open market and wanted to quiz us about our Help to Buy shared ownership deal.

Four first-time buyers decided to say "yes" and reserve one of the high-quality part buy-part rent houses being built at our Oaklands development on the northern side of Rugby for prices that start from £33,750* and deposits that could be as little at £1,688.

The drop-in day at Connells estate agents highlighted the affordability and flexibility of the Help to Buy offer, says Bromford Homes Head of Sales (North) Alan Bradley, and more off-plan sales look likely.

"First-time buyers in Rugby voted with their feet on Saturday by coming along to our open day and finding out how they can get on to the property ladder at a price they can truly afford," says Alan.

"Shared ownership has made the homebuying dream come true for hundreds of people who couldn't afford the huge deposits and monthly payments that come with buying on the open market. Instead of buying outright, you buy between 25% and 75% of your new Bromford home and pay low rent on the remaining share."

Oaklands 960x400

Bromford's Oaklands development of two and three-bed homes on the northern side of Rugby is a prime example, he adds, with prices starting from £33,750* and deposits that could be as little as £1,688. That's enough to buy a minimum 25% share of a two-bed Sanderling house at Crackthorn Drive.

"Where in Warwickshire can you get a better deal than that? Prices like that make all the difference for first-time buyers who can't afford to buy on the open market − especially in a popular area like Rugby where property prices are relatively high and average earnings struggle to keep up," says Alan.

"We're delighted that the first four shared ownership homes at Oaklands have been snapped up − and, judging by the really positive response we've had from other first-time buyers, it surely won't be long before we see more reservations. My message to other would-be homebuyers in Rugby is to call us now and find out how you too can make your dream come true."
