Half sold at Castle View

FIRST-TIME buyers are storming their way into Castle View with more than half of the Staffordshire shared ownership homes reserved in the first month.

The seventh customer has just signed up for a house at commuter-friendly Doxey on the outskirts of Stafford. That leaves seven of the original 14 shared ownership homes still up for grabs and Bromford Homes Head of Sales (North) Alan Bradley urges buyers to act now if they want their pick of the remaining plots.

"We're delighted that so many local first-time buyers want to be 'King or Queen of their own Castle'," says Alan, "and where else in this part of Staffordshire could they realise their home ownership dream for as little as £31,250* with a deposit that could be as low as £1,563?

"Affordability is a key issue for so many first-time buyers and, with many lenders requiring fairly large deposits, HomeBuy shared ownership really is a great way for people to get into the home-buying market.

"Buyers clearly agree − judging by the really positive response since we launched this development a couple of week ago. We've got four confirmed reservations now and every reason to believe that we'll have more signed up soon."

Castle View

He describes the Castle View development of two and three-bedroom houses − midway between Stafford and the M6 −  as "an ideal place for singletons, couples and young families to make their home owning dream come true".

The high-quality homes combine cottage-style exteriors with a modern living look inside − with the smart kitchens adding extra "wow" for first-time buyers − and Doxey is a family-friendly village on the west side of Stafford with a good choice of schools and great connections for commuters.

"This really is an ideal spot for anyone who doesn't want to live in the heart of a town or city but wants to be close enough to the shops and other facilities you need as well as access to the rail and road network," says Alan.

"That's certainly true of Castle View. It's a great location that's only a mile from Stafford and the main railway station, with easy links to the M6 and M6 toll motorways. As well as Stafford on your doorstep, you could easily commute from here to Stoke, Telford, Wolverhampton or even Derby."

* £31,250 is a minimum 25% share of a two-bed house with a full value of £125,000 and the deposit, based on a 95 per cent mortgage, would be £1,563. A minimum 25% share of a three-bed house costing £140,000 is £35,000. A 25% share of a three-bed house with a full asking price of £140,000 is £35,000 and the deposit would be as low as £1,750.
