Wolves winner as buyer scores first home

IT WAS a winning weekend for one homebuyer − and for our game-changing Alders development a short walk from the landmark Molineux Stadium in Wolverhampton.

Saturday saw the first customer pick his spot at The Alders and "put one in the back of the net" − in other words, reserve one of only four three-bed shared ownership homes.

The first-time buyer was one of several visitors who braved the snow and ice to see how Bromford's HomeBuy shared ownership deal can get homehunters on to the property ladder for as little as £30,625*.

Bromford Homes Head of Sales Alan Bradley said: "It's a great result − especially for the buyer, who was able to take their pick of the plots we've got here at The Alders.

"They're great houses, it's a great location − especially if you happen to be a Wolves fan who enjoys going to home games! − and the prices are great too.

"Many people think they can't afford to own their home − but shared ownership means you can get on to the property ladder for a fraction of what it costs to buy outright. In most cases, it's actually cheaper than renting."

Sales Consulant Harj Bahia was there at Gatis Street on January 19 to welcome his new "signing" and to explain how, with HomeBuy, you can buy a home for so little.

"With shared ownership, you buy between 25 and 75% of a new home and pay rent on the remaining share. It's as simple as that," says Harj.

"It means you don't have to save tens of thousands for a deposit or borrow that amount from the Bank of Mum of Dad. In fact, someone buying, say, a minimum 25% share of a three-bed home and taking out a 95% mortgage could pay as little as £1,532* deposit.
 
"It's a real game-changer for anyone who thought the dream of home ownership was out of their reach or might have to save for ten years before they had the kind of deposit that lenders now require for a traditional outright sale."

His closing message to other would-be buyers? "Hurry up or you could miss out on the home of your dreams. We've only got three plots left − and when they're gone, they're gone."
