Opening doors for Telford’s first-time buyers

THE DREAM of home ownership can come true for first-time buyers who join us for a special Bromford Homes open day at The Willows in Muxton, Telford, this weekend.

We're rolling out the welcome mat from 10am to 4pm on Saturday (August 10) for would-be homeowners who can't afford to buy on the open market and want to quiz us about our flexible and affordable part-buy offer.

The drop-in day offers a friendly, informal way to explore our three-bed demonstration home and to find out how you can get onto the property ladder here, off Marshbrook Way, for as little as £33,125* and a deposit that could be as little at £1,657*.

That's enough to buy a minimum 25% share of a two-bed Woodhall home and you can buy a 25% share of the three-bed Minton (pictured below) for as little as £38,750**, with a deposit as low as £1,938**.

Bromford Homes Head of Sales Alan Bradley urges first-time buyers to be quick if they don't want to miss out on the last two shared ownership homes. "We've got just half a dozen part-buy homes here at The Willows and four of them have already been snapped up. That leaves just two opportunities for first-time buyers who want to get onto the property ladder for as little as £33,125*," says Alan.

"Prices like this make all the difference for first-time buyers who can't afford the huge deposits and monthly payments that come with buying on the open market − especially in a popular area like Telford where property prices are relatively high and average earnings struggle to keep up."

How does shared ownership work? Instead of buying outright, you buy between 25% and 75% of your new Bromford home − the amount depends on what you can afford − and pay low rent on the remaining share.

"We're delighted that the first four shared ownership homes at The Willows have been snapped up − and, judging by the really positive response we've had from other first-time buyers, it surely won't be long before we see more reservations," says Alan. "My message to other would-be homebuyers in Telford is to join us on Saturday and find out how you too can make your dream come true."
