Two-thirds sold at Castle View
FIRST-TIME buyers in Staffordshire are urged to "be quick or
risk missing out" on our fast-selling shared ownership homes
at Castle View, Doxey.
A ninth customer deposit means that two-thirds of the 14
part-buy part-rent houses on the outskirts of Stafford are now
That leaves just five homes up for grabs − and, with
two-bed prices starting from £31,250* and deposits as low as
£1,563*, Bromford Homes Head of Sales (North) Alan Bradley
forecasts it won't be long before they're snapped up too.
His advice to local first-time buyers? "Be quick or risk missing
out on what must be one of the best chances for local first-time
buyers to make their home ownership dream come true," says
"Affordability is a key issue for so many of these aspiring
homeowners and, with most lenders requiring fairly large deposits
for traditional outright sales, Help to Buy shared ownership really
is a great way for people to get into the home-buying market.
"Buyers clearly agree − judging by the fantastic uptake
since we launched this development at the start of March. We sold a
third of these two and three-bed houses within a few weeks and now
that's gone up to two-thirds sold.
"It must rate as one of our fastest-selling shared ownership
developments so far and we've got every reason to believe that the
trend will continue. With these really affordable upfront prices
and monthly costs coming out cheaper than private renting
it really does pay to go with shared ownership if you're unable to
buy on the open market."
Of the five remaining houses, four are three-bed homes, with
prices starting from £35,000** and deposits starting from £1,750**,
and just one is a two-bed.
Great prices are matched by great location and great build
quality, says Alan. He describes the Castle View development −
midway between Stafford and the M6 − as "an ideal place for
singletons, couples and young families to make their home owning
dream come true".
The high-quality homes combine cottage-style exteriors with a
modern living look inside − with the smart kitchens adding
extra "wow" for first-time buyers − and Doxey is a
family-friendly village on the west side of Stafford with a good
choice of schools and great connections for commuters.
